What are your lashes telling you? Are they long, lush, and full — or are they sparse, dull, and thin?
Hair, skin, and nails confess to what we’re putting into our body, and that eyelash shed may have more to do with what you eat, rather than the workout we give them with makeup and lash extensions. Topical lash serums help to regrow and strengthen from the outside, but we have to get down to the hard stuff and do the inner work.
No finger-wagging — that’s not how we roll. But, here are some everyday superfoods that can easily be added to your diet to increase the stimulation of hair/lash growth. All good things come from the inside- out. Eat your heart out!
The hero of all superfoods. These little orbs are loaded with biotin, the queen for hair growth. There is nothing B-rated about the powers in this vitamin. Whether you like them hard-boiled, scrambled, or sunny-side-up — one egg a day is all you need.
Go nutty. This crunchy sliver is rich in omega’s, vitamin E and biotin, promoting hair growth and glowing skin. Almonds are also an easy way to calm the rumble in your stomach when you’re on the go. Toss a few back and get glowing.
Leafy Greens —
Eat ‘em up! Water-rich spinach, broccoli, kale, and spirulina - are stacked with vitamins and minerals. Calcium. Magnesium. Potassium. B-12. The deeper the green, the better the sheen.
Sweet Potatoes —
Get to the roots. Orange earthy veggies are rich in beta carotene (vitamin A) which is necessary for cell growth and regeneration. Also rich in antioxidant vitamin C, it strengthens collagen, elastin, and keratin - plumping up skin and hair!
No swimming upstream on this one. A no-brainer. Low in fat — high in lash rich fatty acids, this fish is bursting with vitamin D and protein. Toss in some leafy greens, some root veggies and you’ll have a power lunch for those lashes.
